It is hardly surprising that voters have expressed opposition to the the stadiums rebuild ("Voter revolt on stadiums poses threat to Premier", March 17-18). Sydney's development boom and expansion is putting tremendous pressure on schools and hospitals. While there is a state government argument for the economic benefits of redeveloping two existing stadiums into bigger and more glitzy entertainment and sports arenas, no amount of explanation can offset the fact that over $2 billion is being siphoned into the wrong assets.
