The Union government has appointed Mukesh Kumar Surana as chairman and managing director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. Mumbai: Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today demanded Nobel Peace Prize for Dalit icon Babasaheb Ambedkar. “Babasaheb Ambedkar deserves the Nobel Prize. He should be honoured the way Dr Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela were,” Paswan told PTI here.
In a two-to-one decision, the National Labor Relations Board (Board) held that Dover Energy, Inc., Blackmer Division (Blackmer) committed an unfair labor practice when it warned one of its employees, Tom Kaanta, to stop submitting “frivolous” information requests that his union, the United Auto Workers Union, Local 828 (Union), had not authorized. The Union coal ministry has given permission to Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Power's Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) to increase coal production up to 17.20 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) from its Moher and Moher Amlohri extension coal mines during 2015-16. The move comes after Reliance Power contested the decision to restrict coal production from the mines attached to the 4,000-Mw UMPP. In June 2015, the coal ministry had directed Sasan Power Limited (SPL) in Madhya Pradesh to limit annual coal production to 16 mtpa.
The Union government on Thursday said 68.4 per cent of milk in the country does not conform to standards laid down by the food regulator. It said the most common adulterant found in it was detergent, caustic soda, glucose, white paint and refined oil, all which are considered “very hazardous” for health.
