THE Australian market looks set to open higher, ignoring the negative lead of international markets, especially Wall Street where the Dow and the S&P 500 broke their running streaks of record highs. At 0700 AEST on Friday, the share price futures index was up 19 points, or 0.34 per cent, at 5,661. (1-0)
SHARES in MGM Wireless surged almost 70 per cent today after the Adelaide software company announced the largest deal in its history.
Adelaide-based tech company MGM Wireless has won a contract to provide its communication services applications to all public schools in Western Australia for an undisclosed sum.
The company is one of the initial 4 successful tenderers chosen to offer Absence Management and Parent Notification solutions to schools in Queensland. The Queensland state government has introduced a new policy whereby every Queensland school will be required to provide parents with same-day notification of any unexplained student absence. This is effective from day one of the new school year 2017.
The halt will remain in place until the opening of trade on Wednesday 26th October 2016, or earlier if an announcement is made to the market.
