Global Petroleum announces its unaudited interim financial results for the six months to 31 December 2016.
Highly saline water was recovered from five of the nine pits using a peristaltic pump. Assay results for both sediments and water samples have been received, with no anomalous results for targeted elements. Lake Gregory was targeted following review of a Geoscience Australia analysis, which identified the potential of Lake Gregory to host lithium brines, potash and uranium mineralisation. It is worth noting that lithium brines occur where ground waters percolate through lithium-bearing source rocks in a closed basin.

Global (AIM: GBP, ASX: GBP) is pleased to announce that environmental decrees have been published by the Italian authorities in relation to two of the Company's four applications: for d 82 F.R-GP and d 83 F.R-GP. The Company expects the environmental decrees in respect of the remaining two applications - d 80 F.R-GP and d 81 F.R-GP - shortly. Publication of environmental decrees is the final administrative stage before grant of the permits.
Appellants, RSM Production Corp. and Jack Grynberg (collectively, “RSM”), sued appellee Global Petroleum Group, Ltd. (“Global”) and other entities for misappropriation of trade secrets and other claims based on the alleged misuse of certain seismic data. Global filed a special appearance, which the trial court granted. RSM argues, in its sole issue on appeal, that the trial court erred in granting Global's special appearance.
